Newsletters are a great communication tool to assist you to communicate with your clients and prospects. The articles within Business Plus+, are prepared primarily for Small/Medium Enterprises – your clients. Whilst we hope the articles will also be of interest to your accounting team members.
Each article concludes with a “call to action”. We are drafting the commentary on the basis that, in the final paragraph, if your client is interested in that particular subject, we are going to encourage your client to contact you for a discussion.
The article might have been about Debtors’ Management and referred to the cash flow improvements that can occur if debtors’ days outstanding are reduced. The “call to action” will be an invitation to your client to contact you for a discussion on what the outcome will be from a Debtors’ Management review relative to improvement in cash flow within their business.
An article may have been about finding finance to enable a business to expand and may have referred to the opportunities to raise capital utilising Crowd Sourced Funding Equity Raising. The “call to action” will invite a client, who is interested in expanding their business, to contact you for a discussion whereat you can advise them of what the outcome would be if you assisted them in the preparation for capital raising as a Crowd Sourced Funding Company and they were successful in the capital raise.
The Business Plus+ Newsletter is uploaded to the ESS BIZTOOLS’ website at 12 noon AEST on the second Friday of each month. You will be invited to remove the ESS BIZTOOLS’ badging and replace it with your firm’s branding material so that it is obvious to your clients that you have sent the newsletter to them. You can edit the newsletter if you wish and you can attach additional information to the newsletter.
In each newsletter there is a section on the last page headed “Attention Accountants” – this is where we include details of any other articles within ESS BIZTOOLS which will give you additional information on a matter that has been discussed – this is the “reference section” to assist you in answering client questions. For example, there may be an article on the “Export Market Development Grant” included within Business Plus+. We would include the paper on the “Export Market Development Grant” (Paper 014-030), from ESS BIZTOOLS, within the reference material thus assisting you to research the eligibility and lodgement requirements to claim the Export Market Development Grant before you have any discussions with a client about how the grant operates.
Business Plus+ is produced every month except January and in May there are two additional editions:
- Australian Government Budget as it Affects SMEs
- End of Financial Year Tax Planning

Why Should Your Accountancy Business Consider Sending Client Newsletters?
Newsletters enable you to communicate with your existing clients instead of waiting passively for them to return to your office or to call you on the phone. Business Plus+ is produced monthly (February to December) with 2 additional editions being produced in May - "Federal Government's Budget Effects on SMEs" and "End of Year Tax Planning". Business Plus+ includes information on business development items, which will encourage your clients to use a wider range of services from your accountancy business. We also enclose links to the appropriate ESS BIZTOOLS material that contains additional information on the subject matters raised within Business Plus+ for internal reference.
